Hello there, I’m Karan – an architect turned interaction designer on a mission to craft experiences that resonate with the soul. My journey unfolds at the intersection of accessibility and innovation, where meaningful interactions elevates the human life. I believe in the transformative power of design, a force that goes beyond aesthetics to empower individuals and steer humanity towards a positive direction. Every pixel and atom has a purpose, that leaves an indelible mark on the human experience.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from one of the top design school of India, ranked 1 by outlook and 7 by NIRF for 2023.
Fab Academy’s ‘How to make (almost) anything’ is a diploma program taught by MIT’s Center of Bits & Atom. During this I designed a soft robotic glove aiding finger motion under Dr. Neil Gershenfeld, exhibited at Fab15 Conference, Egypt.
Recieved scholarship to study design and spend a semester at Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design, Israel based on merit rank.
Taught computational design and digital fabrication, conducted tutorials for the class of 70+ students of final year B.Arch program at CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
As a designer at AndLabs, worked on various projects ranging from website design to interior design.
Enrolled into Master of Design in Interaction Design at IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay through CEED.
Assisted Prof. Swati Pal at Human Factors and Ergonomics for Design (HFED Lab) and worked on various projects including website of lab, branding, and a pressure sensitive mat for design evaluation.
Served as Class Representative of Junior Interaction Design for the batch of 2022-24 at IDC School of Design.
Served as founding committee member of PwD Student Cell, IIT Bombay. Worked on enhancing the experience of Physically Challanged students on IIT Bombay campus. Worked on policy making and implementation for the well being of PwD students at IITB.
Worked as lab assitant under Prof. Jayesh Pillai for Immersive Media & Experience Design Lab (IMXD Lab).
Designed an accesible variant of traditional board game of Pallanguzhi for visually imparied under the guidance of Prof. Jayesh Pillai at IMXD Lab at IDC School of Design.
Co-orinated with companies for the placement as a part of a 45+ members team responsible for the placement of 1900+ students from 18+ departments. Coordinated with PMs & DPCs to streamline the placement process.
Got selected to present our AR/VR project ‘Fusion’ work at Laval Virtual 2024 Conference in France.
